We are really delighted to announce that on 1st November, Unlocking Potential and 2nd Chance Education completed a merger process. Unlocking Potential previously ran a programme called The School of Confidence, which was started by John Frieda to help young people aged 18-24 build confidence and find employment. 2nd Chance is a highly successful award-winning charity that helps young people aged 18-24 to gain and sustain employment.
The boards of the two organisations realised that there was a clear synergy and shared vision between the programmes when they first met – both organisations share the ethos of putting young people at the heart of their operation, helping them realise their potential.
The school of Confidence programme has been folded into 2nd Chance and 2nd Chance’s trustees have joined the board of Unlocking Potential. The merger took place smoothly over a couple of months and we are now very excited to be operating as one organisation.
Stuart Roden, Chair of Unlocking Potential said “I am really delighted about this merger – the School of Confidence and 2nd Chance are a perfect fit for each other and the whole created is greater than the sum of the parts.”
